The 2022 NBA All-Star game is taking place on Sunday, February 20th in Cleveland, Ohio. The 5 starters and 7 reserves for both teams have been announced, this consists of 5 starters for each team and 7 reserves from each conference. Players were chosen by a combination of fan votes, current players, and the media. After the players are selected, the player with the most votes from each conference is the captain of their team and are able to draft.

Team Durant

Team Durant’s starting five consists of  Trae Young from the Atlanta Hawks, Ja Morant from the Memphis Grizzlies, Andrew Wiggins from the Golden State Warriors, Joel Embiid from the Philadelphia 76ers, and Kevin Durant’s injury replacement for the starting line-up Jayson Tatum from the Boston Celtics.

The reserves for Team Durant are LaMelo Ball from the Charlotte Hornets, Devin Booker from the Phoenix Suns, Rudy Gobert from the Utah Jazz, Zach Lavine from the Chicago Bulls, Khris Middleton from the Milwaukee Bucks, Dejounte Murray from the San Antonio Spurs, Karl-Anthony Towns from the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the injured Draymond Green from the Golden State Warriors who will not play in the game.

Team LeBron

The starting five for Team LeBron are LeBron James from the Los Angeles Lakers, Giannis Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks, Stephen Curry from the Golden State Warriors, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Jokic from the Denver Nuggets.

The reserves for Team LeBron are Jarrett Allen from the Cleveland Cavaliers, Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat, Luka Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks, Darius Garland from the Cleveland Cavilers, Donovan Mitchell from the Utah Jazz, Chris Paul from the Phoenix Suns, Fred VanVleet from the Toronto Raptors, and the injured James Harden who will not play.

All-Star Weekend

Before the All-Star Game takes place on Sunday night, there is a full weekend of events. Starting on Friday night at 7 PM is the Celebrity All-Star. This game will have famous people such as Jack Harlow, Quavo, and Tiffany Haddish. After that at 9 PM is the Rising Stars games. This year the first and second year players are split into 4 teams who will play a bracket of 3 games.

Starting Saturday at 8 PM is the All-Star Saturday Night. This will consist of the Three Point Contest, The Dunk Contest, and the Skills Challenge.

Then on Sunday is the All-Star Game at 8 PM to end the weekend.
