Prince Phillip Dead at 99

This morning, Buckingham Palace in London tweeted, “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle. Further announcements will be made in due course. The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss.” There has been no more information on the death itself, or the cause.

The Duke had been admitted to the hospital recently with heart problems and was released from St. Bartholomew’s Hospital mid-March after undergoing heart surgery. He had been in and out of the hospital since late 2019 with a “pre-existing” condition.

As of now there is no public plans for tributes or events for the Duke. The Queen must sign off on an plans, and there has been no announcement that she has as of this morning.

Many are mourning the death of the Duke, and he leaves behind 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
