According to sources close to the royal family, Prince Charles and Prince William are apparently not impressed with Prince Harry’s latest interview.

The Duke of Sussex recently appeared on an episode of the Armchair Expert podcast with host Dax Shepard. He compared his experience of being in the royal family like being on The Truman Show and “living in a zoo.” Furthermore, the Duke went on to say that he contemplated quitting royal life several times in the past.

Harry explained in the interview how being a member of the royal family was a struggle and a heavy burden for him. He went on to say he feared that his wife, Meghan, would have to deal with the same treatment from the press that his late mother, Princess Diana, did. The Duke said on the podcast, “I don’t want this job, I don’t want to be here, I don’t want to be doing this. Look what it did to my mum.” He gave listeners a peek into his relationship with his father, as well, claiming that Prince Charles treated him the same way he was treated when growing up. The prince says he hoped to break the cycle of genetic pain that occurs within his family. A separate source claims that Prince Charles “may never forgive” his son for speaking so negatively.

An inside source told Us Weekly that both Prince Charles and Prince William wish that Harry would discuss his opinions in private. The insider noted that the royal family does not want to engage with any of the comments Prince Harry made and stated, “It definitely hasn’t helped with healing the rift.” They feel that it was irresponsible of the Duke of Sussex to make such comments, especially so soon after Prince Philip’s death, while the Queen is still mourning.
