Spring Break is Almost Here

Spring Break is Almost Here

Cassie Martin, Assistant Editor

We are officially in the second week of March. That means that spring break is less than one short month away. If you have not, it is time to plan the best vacation ever. Here are some tips on just how to plan for that vacation.
• Create a budget, and be mindful of that budget
• Get hotel reservations in advance, hotels normally charge higher prices the closer to the check in date
• Notify your bank that you are traveling and plan to use your card many times
• Pack ahead of time- do not wait until last minute.
• Always have an up to date first aid kit just in case of an emergency.
• If you do not want to spend a massive amount of money on food, pack foods such as sandwich supplies, drinks, cereals, and other foods that do not require a stove.
• Read up on the place you want to go. You do not want to get somewhere and totally be unprepared for the weather or culture.
• Pack extra clothes and materials in case something gets lost.
• Travel in a group or at least with someone else.
• Pick a mode of transportation in advance. Some places have trolleys and others it is best to walk to get to your destination.
• Be sure to tell someone you trust that is staying back your check in and check out dates.
• Pick a place that suits both your wants and budget.
• Never be afraid to get the cheaper hotels; sometimes they are the best.
• Plan out the activities you plan on doing while on vacation before you leave.
• Pick a time for traveling that best suits your sleep pattern.
• If traveling a long distance away by car, consider switching off with another legal driver when you feel fatigued.

Remember to be safe and have fun.
