In Memorium of: Zakius Davis
On February 12th at 12.57 am I lost my little brother Zakius Davis… He had gotten shot and died right on the scene. This day was so sad and hurtful for me and my family, especially my mama and my grandma and us, his sisters and brother. He was sweet, loving, and kind. He was the type of person to brighten up your day if you were having a bad day.
It was stressful trying to plan the funeral and to get everything right before it. We had so many hard days and nights to where we could not sleep or eat because we were so sad and hurt. To this day we are still hurting and sad from this situation and it hurts us every day knowing that we will never see our brother, son, nephew, uncle, and friend again.
We had a lot of people come to our house and a lot of people showed love and respect to our family and we really appreciated that. We had the funeral on February 25th at Limestone Missionary Baptist Church at 12:00pm this day was so sad, and a lot of people was hurt because my brother touched a lot of people hearts, and they loved him so much and would do anything in the world for him. Everybody is not perfect but still love them and take care of them no matter what. There were a lot of kids from the schools he went to that came out and showed me and my family so much love! After the funeral, my mama said, “It really touched my heart seeing all the kids, teachers, and friends he had there.”
I just wish I had the chance to tell him I love him one more time. This will be a day I will never forget. With that being said, cherish your loved ones while they’re alive because when they’re gone you will miss them very much. Just tell them that you love them and that you care for them while they are still here. #LLZ
