December 13, 2015 was a day that broke the hearts of Ed Sheeran fans all over the world. But then, one year later, on December 13, 2016 was the day that sparked Ed Sheeran buzz all over the world. After a year-long hiatus full of anxious, music-deprived Sheeran fans, Ed Sheeran has returned with a new album, and fans are going crazy for Divide.

Divide, which was released on March 3 of this year, has been the top-selling album of 2017 so far. This was only a week after its release. Divide has also surpassed Sheeran’s sophomore album, Multiply. The album includes upbeat singles such as “Shape of You” and more down to earth songs like “Castle on the Hill.” “Shape of You” remained the number one song on the Billboard Hot 100 for over 10 weeks, after its initial release on January 6. The album also includes genuine love songs such as “Perfect” and heart-breaking tear-jerkers like “Supermarket Flowers” and “Happier.” “Barcelona” and “Galway Girl” will make you get up and dance for days, and “Dive” will make you want to sing at the top of your lungs in the car.

Compared to Sheeran’s two other albums, Plus and Multiply, Divide offers a more mature sound, one that resonates deep in the souls of Ed Sheeran fans across the globe. Sheeran has helped redefine pop music in a way that makes it acceptable to any music lover. His third album is exhilarating, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Divide shows us that since his debut in 2011; Ed Sheeran still knows what he’s doing.
