This event takes place 2 years after the exposition for el dorado. Nathan Drake is at a bar when he meets up with his former partner Harry Flynn and former girlfriend Chole Frazier. They approach him with a new mission to find the Cintamani Stone which Marco Polo was looking for in the lost city of Shambhala many years ago. The trio goes to a museum in the city of Istanbul to steal a lamp that could lead them to Shambhala. Nate and Flynn head inside the museum to get to the lamp while Chole would be in the getaway car to drive off once they have the lamp. Nate and Flynn traverse their way through the museum taking down the guards in the process and find the lamp that shows that their next stop is in Borneo. Before getting out of the museum Flynn betrayed Nate leaving him to be arrested. Nate is bailed out 3 months later by Chole and Nate’s best friend Sully. Chloe reveals that she had nothing to do with Flynn’s betrayal and said that he is working for Zoran Lazarevic, a war criminal who is going after the stone. The trio of Nate, Sully and Chloe set out to Borneo to find their next clue to find the stone. Chloe goes off with Flynn, who she is working for as a spy to help Nate and Sully. They blow up one of Lazarevic’s camps to distract him and his squad as Nate discovers his notes. They find a dagger which is a key to a hidden passport in Shambhala. Nate and Chole head off to Nepal to search a temple to find Shambhala, but in the process end up running into Elena Fisher who was Nate’s partner in el dorado. Elena is accompanied by her partner and new cameraman on the job Jeff. Nate and Chole find that the location of Shambhala is in the Himalayas which is a Mountain range in Asia. Jeff got shot in the stomach during an ambush and after a pursuit Lazarevic catches up to the group and puts Jeff out of his misery. Chole goes back with Flynn as a spy with no suspicion. Nate and Elena end up escaping the army and go to a water tower to catch a train that Lazarevic is using to get to the Himalayas. In the end Flynn kills himself in a suicide attack on Nate and his friends with a grenade baldy injuring Elena. At the lost city of Shambhala the Cintamani stone was formed into the tree of life inside the city. Lazarevic is defeated by Nate in a long fight and Lazarevic goes down with the city as Nate and his friends escape the city. Nate catches up with Elena in the Himalayas and gives her a kiss to show his love for her.
