Our story begins in the year 2007 where we meet treasure hunter Nathan Drake alongside reporter and TV host Elena Fisher where they discover the coffin of Nate’s ancestor Sir Francis Drake. The coffin was in an ocean off the coast of Panama for so many years before Nate and Elena found it. Shortly after they are attacked by a group of pirates before they are saved by Nate’s longtime friend and partner Victor Sullivan also known as Sully. Nate and Sully then discuss going to find el dorado, the lost city of gold and Sully convinces Nate to leave Elena behind as they go and hunt the treasure on their own. Nate investigates a German u-boat in the middle of a forest and finds the last page to Francis drake’s journal. Afterwards Sully is shot in the chest by Gabriel Roman but what is revealed later is that Drake’s Journal took the bullet and kept Sully alive the whole time. Nate, Sully and Elena end up meeting up with one another on a mysterious island and after solving many puzzles they find out that Francis Drake was killed after finding out that the treasure was cursed and turning all of its seekers into demons to protect the golden statue of el dorado. The leader of the pirate gang that was chasing Nate’s crew this whole Eddie Raja was ultimately killed by these demons when Nate tried to help fend them off. Nate and Sully catch up to Roman and his right hand man Navarro uncover the statue and Roman gets turned into one of the demons after opening the statue and Navarro puts him down with a shot to the head. Navarro is revealed to be the true mastermind behind stealing el dorado and plans to put it up for auction. Nate has his final showdown with Navarro and barely manages to beat him and send Navarro, his helicopter and the treasure into a nearby ocean to drown forever. Nate and Elena regroup with Sully with a good amount of riches from the treasure and they ride their way to the sunset after a wild journey.
