Thursday, March 24, the 26-year-old female rapper, Doja Cat claimed that she is quitting music through a Tweet that she posted on Twitter: “I don’t give a **** anymore, I ****ing quit, I can’t wait to ****ing disappear and I don’t need you to believe in me anymore. Everything is dead to me, music is dead, and I’m a ****ing fool for ever thinking I was made for this — this is ****ing nightmare, unfollow me.” She followed that tweet up with another that said, “This **** ain’t for me, so I’m out.” Doja Cat’s fans seemed really upset and were trying to convince her to change her mind, telling her not to listen to the people that were hating on her and to focus on the fans who actually care about her.

Why is Doja Cat quitting music? Apparently, Doja Cat had been scheduled to perform at the music festival in Paraguay, but the show could not go on due to the dangerous storms. Some fans believed that she should have done more to acknowledge the people who had planned on seeing her perform. One fan wrote, “Not a single photo being in Paraguay, not a single tweet, not a single Instagram story!!!” Another “fan” tweeted, “Public enemy number one.” In which Doja Cat responds, “I’m not sorry.” She had also changed her name on Twitter to “I quit,” and later to “I still quit.”

Apparently, the backlash did not start on Twitter. After the concert was canceled, fans proceeded to go to her private hotel and yell at her for not saying hi to them. They continued to yell racist remarks and even went as far as comparing her to Hitler. That is when the artist took things to Twitter where she claimed she was quitting music and stated, “This **** ain’t for me so I’m out. Y’all take care.”
