The long-anticipated Friends reunion special is finally coming to HBO Max. Friends: The Reunion will debut on the streaming service on May 27. The debut brings actors and close friends, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox. Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer, together once again after 17 years.

Although the cast is going to be together at the original studio where the television show was filmed, viewers need to keep in mind that this is a reunion, and not a reunion episode. According to HBO Max, the reunion will be “for a real-life unscripted celebration of the beloved show.”

There will be many special guests appearing on the reunion, including James Corden, Justin Bieber, Reese Witherspoon, Tom Selleck, Lady Gaga, and Cindy Crawford, just to name a few. While some of these stars actually appeared on the show so many years ago, others are just big fans.

The comedy television show first aired in 1994 and followed the adventures of six singles living in New York. It quickly became one of the most popular shows in T.V. history and has gained even more popularity recently in younger generations thanks to the show being streamed on Netflix. The television show is still being played on T.V. as reruns as well. HBO Max is paying $425 million to carry reruns of the show for the next five years, according to a Wall Street Journal report from 2019. Most importantly for the streaming site, HBO Max’s subscriber count will grow tremendously once the reunion is aired. Dedicated fans of Friends will subscribe to any streaming platform to watch this exciting reunion special.
