New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo has been accused of sexual harassment by two women and a unwanted advance by another women.

He apologized for his behavior saying he did not know he was making anyone uncomfortable. He was called to resign by many, but in this announcement addressing the allegations he says he will not be resigning and there will be a full investigation of the allegations. The governor told America “I now understand that I acted in a way that made people feel uncomfortable. It was unintentional and I truly and deeply apologize for it. I feel awful about it, and frankly, I am embarrassed by it, and that’s not easy to say but that’s the truth.”

New York Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins says “He’s saying that nothing inappropriate happened. If the investigation shows that something inappropriate did happen, I think he would have to resign.”

One of his accusers, Anna Ruch, said that he made a unwanted advance towards her at a 2019 wedding. They were pictured together and during the toast he put his hand on her bare lower back and another picture shows Cuomo putting his hands on Ruch’s face, but it is unclear what happened. Ruch declined CNN’s request for a statement. Cuomo says that his hands on her face is a customary greeting that he learned from his dad, former Governor Mario Cuomo.

Another one of Cuomo’s accusers, Charlotte Bennett, was Coumo’s former executive assistant and health policy advisor. She claims he asked her questions about her sex life and told her he was open to relationships with women in their 20’s. While Cuomo claims that it was never his intent to make her uncomfortable and that he never made a advance on her. Bennett’s lawyer claims that Cuomo knew the intent and he was most likely made aware of it due to the fact that Bennett reported it and the Chief of Staff and Chief Counsel most likely made him aware.

Cuomo says that he understands the difference between intent and the way he made these women feel. He says he did not intend to make any of these women uncomfortable. He says “It doesn’t matter, my intent. What matters is if anybody was offended by it. And I could intend no offense, but if they were offended by it, then it was wrong. And if they were offended by it, I apologize.”
