The Case For Aliens

The Case For Aliens

Abby Phillips, Staff Writer

The case for extraterrestrial life has long been debated. For years, many people have wondered if earth is truly the only planet with life on it. Secondly, does the government have information of extraterrestrial life that they are not giving to the public?

There are several government officials who have publicly mentioned their thoughts about life on other planets. Some of these statements have been more believable, as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid claims the federal government has covered up many things concerning extraterrestrial life for many years. Other statements are a bit more jaw-dropping, though many are unsure of how true they are. Haim Eshed, a military officer in allegiance to Israel, states that humans have made contact with aliens and that the U.S. government formed an agreement with them allowing them to do experiments here on Earth. NASA, however, claims that they have found no signs of extraterrestrial life though they are constantly exploring the solar system in hopes of better understanding the universe that surrounds the world we live in. Just this past December, former President Trump announced that he was close to revealing the existence of aliens to the general public. He even created the Space Force in late 2019, another branch of the military, where their primary mission is to maintain, protect, and expand U.S. global military satellites and operations.

In addition to this, there have been a large amount of UFO sightings in the past, too many to count. Many argue that because the universe is so ancient and large, it is comical to think that life on other planets does not exist. Criticizers of this would say that if we haven’t found aliens by now, there probably isn’t other intelligent life out there. The question if aliens exist is definitely interesting and is fun to study, no matter what position you take.
