Although South Carolina’s governor has stayed quiet about the COVID-19 outbreaks while, many states are going back into lock down. Some states are setting curfews and implementing plans to try to slow and maybe stop the spread of COVID.

In Chicago, a stay at home advisory was scheduled to go into effect Monday. Philadelphia is going to be coming out with new restrictions due to the cases soaring and the holidays approaching rapidly. The Governor of Ohio has set curfews starting from ten at night to five in the morning. In Oklahoma they have started closing all bars and eateries at 11 p.m. While some governors are making implements to try to slow the spread, some governors are just “encouraging” to people to wear masks, not requiring it.

Due to holidays coming up, some states are limiting gatherings. While planning holidays in South Carolina, SCDHEC has offered advice on how to have the safest holiday. The website (www.scdhec.gov) includes a list of who should not attend family gatherings. It also includes travel and low risk activities. People who have been diagnosed with COVID, have symptoms, are waiting for test results, have been exposed to or are at increased risk of getting COVID should not attend gatherings. The website says the best way to stay safe is to stay home. If you have to go out, go with members of your household, with no stops along the way. Some of the lower risks activities offered by the CDC include having a small dinner with only people in your household, having a virtual dinner, shopping online, or watching movies from home. You are allowed to have food delivered to your family, but you have to make sure to socially distance yourself.

Some rules differ in different states and counties. Some places are allowing small gatherings of ten or less people. Others seem to be not 100% sure as of right now. However this may pan out, have a great Holiday!
