How We Are Currently Living an Episode of Community

Abby Allison, Staff Writer

It’s no secret that our country is a mess right now. There’s an election happening (slowly, but surely), people are rioting, and our president is throwing tantrums on Twitter.

Things are so chaotic that all we can do is joke about it, which just about sums up the vibe of an episode of Community, a sitcom that ran from 2009 to 2015.

If I had to pick one episode in particular, I would have to go with “Remedial Chaos Theory” because it seems we went too far with the whole dice throw TikTok trend, landing us in the darkest timeline.

For starters, Nevada has really Britta’d the election. They must have gotten their education at Greendale, because boy are they taking their time counting votes.

This presi-dean-tial election is like the pizza burn on the roof of our country’s mouth. There is so much at stake that even Britta, an anarchist cat owner, would have voted (for Biden, without a doubt).

Donald Trump tried to declare victory before all the votes were counted, and even demanded the count be stopped. He also told his supporters not to vote via mail, then was surprised when he didn’t receive many mail-in votes. Now, if that doesn’t scream Pierce Hawthorne, I don’t know what does.

Things are so intense that not even a famous Jeff Winger speech could save us. There’s no telling where this is headed. If this truly were Community, Donald Trump and Joe Biden would just settle everything with an overly dramatic game of paintball.

All we know is that if we eventually escalate into civil war and absolute chaos, Abed would be out there somewhere making a documentary of it all. However, as much as I love Cool Abed Films, it would be streets ahead if things just calmed down.
