Is Trump Banning TikTok?

It has been rumored for quite some time that TikTok, a video sharing social media app, will be banned in the U.S.

Trump considering banning the app to “punish” China. “It’s a big business. Look, what happened with China with this virus, what they’ve done to this country and to the entire world is disgraceful,” he said back in July.

However, it is believed that Trump sought out to ban the app after teenagers came together on the app and ruined his rally.

On August 6th Trump issued an executive order “that will effectively ban TikTok unless it is sold to an American buyer.”

TikTok was previously due to be banned from U.S. app stores on September 20th, but was later extended to September 27th. However, the ban may be delayed even more.

Oracle and Walmart are currently in a race to buy TikTok.
