GHS football games will look quite different in these upcoming weeks compared to past seasons. Because of COVID-19, Cherokee County school officials have decided that less than 50% of maximum capacity at the home stadium, The Reservation, will be allowed in to watch the games.

With the first official game beginning this Friday, September 25, it is important to note that tickets will also be sold differently this year. Tickets for each game will be available the Monday before. People wishing to buy one must complete an online form on the school’s website. Once this is completed, individuals are required to pay for the ticket at the Gaffney High School ticket booth from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Wednesdays or from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. on Thursdays. Tickets are $7 each, and anyone who buys one has to pay with the correct change. The parents of football players, cheerleaders, and band members will be the priority when it comes to selling tickets.

If someone buys a ticket to the football game, there are some rules that must be followed once they enter the stadium: spectators are required to wear face coverings and remain six feet apart in the stands (unless they are with a member of the same household), no tailgating is allowed (spectators must go straight into the stadium once they arrive), the Clear Bag Policy will be enforced, gatherings on the field prior to, during, or after the games are not allowed, spectators will not be allowed to cross from one side of the stadium to the other, every other stall in restrooms will be available, all students grades K-8 must be accompanied by an adult, concessions will have limited items, and everyone is highly encouraged to stay home if they have a fever or feel sick.
