Holidays Rapidly Approaching

Lauren Ingle, Features Co-Editor

Its always a crazy time around the holidays; whether it be out of town, or just going to the grocery store, someone always seems to be in the holiday spirit. It seems as though there is so much to do to prepare, but not enough time.

I always procrastinate and wait until the last minute when it comes to gifts. I will try to get it done early, but it never sees to work out in my favor. It always scares me that I will not get the right thing, I’ll get the wrong size, or it won’t ship in time. I love giving things to people, but it becomes very stressful at times.

Too me, one of the most important things is family. My family celebrates Christmas on Christmas Eve, and this usually brings all of the family together. When I walk into my great-grandmas house, there are usually at least three new people that I’m not sure who they are or how we’re related. I go straight to my grandmas after that, and she always has this huge lunch. Decorations are everywhere, inside and outside. She always buys us matching pajamas and makes us take family pictures.

On Christmas morning, I wake up at my mom’s and she has a ton of wrapped presents under the tree that my four year old brother tears into as soon as he wakes up. She always makes the most random food, but they end up all being good. At the end of the night we all sit down and we right down our New Year’s Resolutions. This year is coming to an end. Were going into 2020.

As we go into the New Year, we are not only welcoming new beginnings, but saying goodbye to everything that may have happened in 2019. Everything will forever be in our hearts. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, everyone. See you in 2020!
