The culture of the 70’s was much different than the culture today. Men and women’s clothes looked very similar to each other, whether that consisted of tight boot cut jeans or turtle neck sweaters. Popular music in the 70’s did not consist of rap music like today. Some popular songs in the 70s were “Stayin’ Alive,” “Bennie & the Jets,” “Dancing Queen,” and “Stairway to Heaven.” Teenagers back then enjoyed listening to disco, progressive rock, punk rock, and funk & soul. Teenagers enjoyed going to footballs games, hanging out, or just riding around with their friends.

Gloria Gault, a senior at Gaffney High School in 1978, was involved in an impressive amount of extracurricular activities. She was a member of the pep club, chess club, Beta Club, photography club, and business staff. Gloria was also a cheerleader and student body president. She was a member of the Indian Post. Gloria also won homecoming queen of the 1978 class. She was all around an outstanding student. A senior today, Harrison Geary, actually happens to be Gloria’s daughter.
