When asked these questions…

“What are you excited for this senior year in regards to what you’re involved in?” “What does senior year mean to you specifically?”

These Seniors gave these responses:

Ethan Turner (drummer for Off The Wall) – “To me, senior means leader. We are the top dogs so we have to be good leaders to underclassmen, and we have to represent our school well.”.

John Fitzpatrick (Varsity Football) – “I’m excited to finish this season strong, maybe even with a state championship. To me, senior year means the last ride of our childhood.”

Morgan Barnes (Girl’s Varsity Golf) – “I am excited to be a part of the Gaffney High School Girl’s Golf team for the fifth year in a row. I was a member of Gaffney’s first Girl’s golf team ever. It’s my goal to finish out my senior year strong. Senior year to me is the final chapter of a twelve year journey; it’s our last year to spend time with friends before going to college. It’s the year of decision making – where we’re going to go to college, and what we’re going to major in. As the Senior Class of 2019, we WILL finish strong. Go Indians!!”

Caroline Smith (Worker) – “Senior year means stressing about the future, but excitement to be finished. I’m excited to maybe be able to move up and learn more positions at work as I get older.”

Jacob Patterson (Student Body Member) – “I’m excited to be able to share my experiences and pass down information that can help upcoming seniors learn from.”

Dylan Fowler (Academic Challenge Team) – “I’m excited to spend time with friends throughout the bus rides and the competitions during academic challenge season this year. It’s always good to make new memories with the team every year. They’re a fun group to be with.”

Caroline Morgan (Varsity Soccer) –  “I am excited to play one last season with my teammates and to grow as a player and person. Senior year means to me getting to have one last year of fun with my friends before stepping out into the real world.”

Tyonna Tate (Varsity Cheerleader) – “My senior year being on the cheer squad means that it’s my last ride. It means that no matter how much I gave last year, I need to give twice as much this year. Cheer has been a part of my life since I was 5, and the fact that I only have one more year of being a Gaffney High School Cheerleader breaks my heart. But this will be the season that I give my all or die trying.”

Joseph Matthews (Ring of Honor) –  “I’m ready to move onto college and prepare to start the next part of my life. My achievements have made me more prepared for that next part of my life.”

Tatum Goins (Cross Country & ROTC) – “I am excited for academic challenge, and I am thrilled to apply for scholarships and colleges. Senior year to me is the culmination of all of our hard work, coming to a bombastic end.”

Amiyah Philips (Teacher Cadet) – “I am excited about being in teacher cadet, and I’m also excited about being a part of Homecoming. My senior year means that I get one last ride with my friends before we go our separate ways and start our new life journeys.”

Kerrigan Thornton (Varsity Softball & Tennis) – “I am excited about my senior night for softball and football games on Fridays! I’m excited to finally be the top dogs of the school and run the student section! I love getting out of school early, too. Senior year means that it’s my last year to make my high school experience great! I want to try and do everything I can to enjoy my last year. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for this year!!”

Kendrick Davis (Band) –” I’m excited for the nationals trip to Ohio this year and for the senior jazz band class with finally having a chance of superiors.”

Thomas Ramsey (Yearbook) –” I’m excited to get out early each day and take one last ride with all my friends, not just in yearbook, but in all of my classes.”
