Gaffney High School Theater is going “Back to the 80s!”
March 7, 2018
Remember the age of rock-n-roll and the Atari? When kids would wake up to watch the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Yoda and Vader in Star Wars? Those were the 80s, the age when it seemed as if everyone was having the time of their lives.
This weekend, the Gaffney High School Drama Department will be taking us Back to the 80s to solve the Rubic’s Cube, play Pacman, and dance to Michael Jackson. The show opens Thursday and runs through Sunday. Doors will open at 6:30pm on Thursday-Saturday with the performance beginning at 7:30. Doors open at 2pm Sunday with the show beginning at 3pm. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. The show centers around Corey Palmer as he begins to reminisce on his nostalgic high school memories. Corey remembers his crush on his next door neighbor Tiffany, his battle with Michael in the class election, and the party he threw at his house to impress the ladies. From 80s punchlines and movie references, along with some 80s style and dance, this show has something for everyone. Come laugh, dance, and sing with the “kids in America,” as they take the stage Thursday through Sunday.
