The Senior girls left for Thanksgiving break thankful that the Powder Bowl had ended on Tuesday, November 21, as the Juniors had dominated the match up on both sides of the ball which gave them the 28-0 victory. It all began with the opening kickoff being returned by Emma Price, who was the quarterback and a standout player throughout the game. The juniors jumped out with an early 8-0 lead. Their defense later forced and recovered a fumble from Senior Quarterback Faith Belue. Midway through the second quarter, Emma Price led the junior offense to another touchdown with the two points giving them the 16-0 lead. She also intercepted Morgan Whitley’s pass. Price rushed for 22 yards for another touchdown. She would score again in the third. With a missed PAT and a failed two point conversion attempt, the Juniors still managed to walk away with the 28-0 victory. Junior Coach, Brock Hamrick, knew that his team’s organization would defeat an unorganized senior team, “I wanted my team to be organized. I knew that if my team was organized, we’d probably win the game.” On the Senior side of the ball, Scarlett Goudelock, who is a an athletic trainer for  the school’s team spoke about what it was like to have the opportunity to experience playing football, “I definitely got a feel for what the guys feel on Friday nights with whole crowd yelling and everybody watching. It’s very different to be on the sideline with a crate of water bottles, than to be on the field with the football in your hands.” The Powder Bowl brought in a substantial amount of money and funds for prom, which will take place in the spring.
