Off The Wall
November 16, 2017
Since their debut performance at the Iron City Festival in Blacksburg, Off The Wall has gained an awesome reputation as a great live band by playing at music festivals, the Peach festival, and many restaurants in Shelby and Gaffney. Off The Wall features Will Shehan (singer/guitarist), Marissa Shehan (keyboard player/singer), Ethan Turner (drummer) and Tripp Hammett (bassist). Off The Wall’s sound has been described as “a crowd pleaser that is sure to please everyone.” They play different songs from like “Superstition,” “Sugar,” and “Gravity” to original songs that were written by the lead singer, Will Shehan.
Off The Wall doesn’t just play live gigs all of the time; they spend time in the studio, as well. Will Shehan actually has an EP out right now called “Hers or the Highway” that you can buy on iTunes. The songs on the EP include “Worry,” “Savannah,” and “Little Miss Hard to Get.” The EP is “a pop album with a bluesy vibe to it.”
“Will writes straight from the heart and his music gives the listener a little glimpse into his life,” according to Abby Mardis, girlfriend to the drummer.
Shehan hopes that one day the band “will be able to play all over the state and neighboring states.” As for his personal music career, Shehan hopes to be able to play music as long as he can and make a living playing music.
“Being able to do what I love with a great group of friends,” is what Turner said when asked what the best part of being in the band is. They started off as a talented group of friends who all share a love for music and now they have made a name for themselves throughout the community.
