The World Series is officially underway, as the Los Angeles Dodgers won game on the diamond of Chavez Ravine Stadium. The game lasted only two hours and twenty-eight minutes, which is the shortest World Series game since game four of the 1992 series. The spirit of Jackie Robinson was in attendance with his family throwing the first pitch in honor of the Jackie Robinson Foundation providing scholarships and support for equal opportunity in higher education. Former Dodger announcer Vin Scully was also in the sea of Dodger blue. Chris Taylor began the run streak when he homered a fastball from Dallas Keuchel. Alex Bregman put the Astros on the board in the top of the fourth inning when he homered on the pitch from Clayton Kershaw, bringing the game to an even 1-1. That would all change in the bottom of the sixth when Justin Turner hit another one of his signature home runs for the Dodgers, bringing him and Chris Taylor home to put the Dodgers up 3-1. There was no stopping from there, as the Dodgers dominated from the pitching of Clayton Kerhsaw, securing the game one victory. Game 2 takes place tonight in Los Angeles. Can the Dodgers secure another victory with the home field advantage and dangerous batting, or will Houston tie the series before returning to Houston?
