Sex Trafficking

Sex trafficking is human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation. It has been called a form of modern slavery because of the way victims are forced into sexual acts non-consensually, in a form of sexual slavery. According to stoplearn.com, the effects of sex trafficking steam from physical or psychological abuse, abuse of fundamental human rights, delay in their education and human capacity development, unwanted pregnancy, stigmatization, vulnerability to sexual transmitted diseases, & death. These effects are horrible and things a person should never have to go through. There are 3 types of human trafficking. The first one is “The sex trade” which is the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, or obtaining a person for the purpose of a commercial sex act. The next one is “Forced labor” which is all work or service which is exacted from any person under the threat of a penalty. The next one is “domestic servitude” which is a form of human trafficking found in distinct circumstances and they work in private residences that create unique vulnerabilities for victims. According to lovejustice.ngo it says A little more than half of trafficking victims are females” which means about 50% of the victims are females. It also said “Minors make up about a third of trafficking victims” which means there are a lot of children being taken more than adults. This is why we should keep our children safe and keep a good eye on them. Even when they are outside and play with their other friends or family, we should keep a lookout for them because no one ever wants to lose a child.
