Day in the Life of a Senior: Shon Ponder
The Day in the Life of a Senior: Shon Ponder…. I chose Shon because he is a sweet, loving, and caring person. Also, he is willing to help when needed or he is a fitting example for other students and people. Here at Gaffney High School, we love Shon, and we thank him for the things he has done and is doing for our school. As I was talking to Shon, I interviewed him and asked some questions. I told Shon to talk about himself as a senior. He told me “I wake up at 7:30 every morning and prepare for the day. I grab my essentials and leave by 7:45. My first class is Spanish 102 at SCC. I leave by 9:00 to go to Newspaper. I’m the editor-in-chief and lead the class to new articles every day. I then go to either Math 120/English102 depending on the day. In these classes I am extremely attentive as college credit is important. I then go home for the 4th block to eat lunch and get ready for color guard. I practice from 4-7 and prepare the GHS colorgraud for their 2023 production “declined”. I then go home to eat dinner and then sleep to repeat my cycle.” He also said his favorite quote is “what science may not ever be able to explain is the ineffable fear of the alien among us.” This quote is said by his favorite TV character Dana Scully. His subjects that interest him the most are science and history. His favorite teachers at GHS are Mrs. Barnes and Mrs. Gautam and Mrs. White he loves these women, and he is very close to them and love what they are doing for the students. He feels the global issues that concern him is “Incurable diseases.” The historical figures that intrigue him the most are Napoleon Bunaparte and Henry VIll. He thinks Mtn Dew is the best way to start your day. His favorite music artists are “Inc. By Dori Valentine.” He says in 10 years he sees himself being a pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist. The lamest excuse he had made recently is “I was too tired to do homework.” The funniest joke that he knows is “what did the fish say when he hit the wall…. –DAM.” As a senior, his time at GHS is up, we wish him the best as he moves on through life.
