Black Panther: Wakanda Forever; An Honest Review (SPOILERS!!)
Its difficult to come after the original Black Panther especially given how good it was and the passing of the actor Chadwick Boseman. Let’s see how they followed up with the new Black Panther movie.

Taking a look at Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, this was a highly anticipated movie, and had a very tough development due to the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman, the original actor who played the Black Panther. The script needed re-written entirely after it had been finished in order for it to still fit into the Marvel cinematic universe (which they did a fantastic job of.) The characters in the movie are mourning the loss of their beloved King T’challa and find a way to continue to protect the people and resources of Wakanda. This movie was an undoubtedly good movie, however, it cannot compare to the first movie in my opinion. Many factors have made me come to this conclusion such as Chadwick not being able to be in the movie and the general plot that marvel tends to use with their (overused) signature movie formula. In the second half of the movie the writers really began to rely on that standard superhero movie type formula with the standard villain who wants to take over the world and happens to be a major hidden super powerful nation. It never honest felt as should the underwater nation was as powerful as the movie was making them out to be especially given the most “advanced” thing we see are water balloon bombs. It genuinely felt as though Wakanda could have easily beaten down this “powerful” nation at any time especially given the POWER and RESOURCES Wakanda has. It just didn’t make sense to me and they did a terrible job of showing how “advanced” this civilization was supposed be. The main character from civilization, their king also didn’t resonate well with me for many reasons such as the actual purpose of picking a fight with Wakanda. There was no tragic backstory this character had and it seemed as though the main story line of the movie was a problem that could have been avoided. There were also many side quest seeming things happening throughout the movie that didn’t really need to be in the movie and didn’t seem to help advance the plot whatsoever. It felt as though these “side quests” were just there to make run time longer. The CGI and action was amazing and was very much improved from the first movie. The writing for the characters makes you feel their emotion and feel their pain when something in the movie happens, such as the passing of Wakanda’s Queen Ramanda. The acting was also simply outstanding, it makes you feel so connected to the characters especially given T’challa’s passing. I personally give the movie a 7.6 out of 10.
