Taylor Swift Announces Tour: ‘The Eras Tour’
November 21, 2022
With her new tenth studio album ‘Midnights’ releasing October 21st of this year, Swift has added to the mayhem by announcing her new tour, the first since 2018. The announcement was made on Good Morning America on November 1st. Swift titled this tour ‘The Eras Tour’, as the 2023 concert tour covers her growth and the re-release of her previous albums; adding onto their original titles with ‘Taylors Version’ as she now holds ownership and rights over her musical creations. Describing the upcoming tour, she states on social media, “The Eras Tour, a journey through the musical eras of my career.” Though international dates are soon to be announced, the ones for United States have. Swift is to embark on her tour beginning March 18th and end on August 5th, 2023. The Eras Tour will also include musical guests and openers such as Paramore, Phoebe Bridgers, Haim, and Gracie Abrams.
Taylor Swift’s past tours have shown to be an incredible hit. Her last one, ‘Reputation Stadium Tour’, broke records, became her most successful tour to date, and holds the title of being the highest-grossing tour in the United States and North America. With 345.7 million dollars in revenue and 2.88 million fans who attended – Swift always goes above and beyond in her craft and the effects of her talent go together with her sharp wit. You can see this in her most recent album ‘Midnights.’ Now being her tenth studio album, ‘Midnights’ broke numerous, ground-breaking records ranging from sales, digital, streaming, and official chart records. As this will be Swift’s first concert tour in five years, the absolute excitement and uproar was immense.
Before this enthralling announcement, Taylor Swift’s past ideas for tour were completely turned around. With the release of her album Lover in 2019, Swift planned to embark on her tour she dubbed ‘Loverfest.’ Though, Loverfest never came to life as COVID-19 hit unexpectedly and hard. Along with the effects of COVID-19, thus came along her two studio albums ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore’ – in which she wrote during quarantine, adding a new immersive genre to her ever-growing discography. Therefore ‘Eras Tour’ will cover all phases of Taylor’s music and life; which is crucially important to do so – as the controversy with her masters leading to her re-recording and releasing previous albums were a monumental moment in not just her career, but the pure power behind the decision-making. As The Eras Tour will be Swift’s first concert tour in five years, the absolute excitement and uproar was immense. Swift went to social media following the announcement and wrote, “I can’t WAIT to see your gorgeous faces out there. It’s been a long time coming.”
