According to WYFF , Dozens of dogs were rescued from a home in Greer . They lived in filth and suffered from life-threatening health issues . They seized up to 30 dogs and transported them to Greenville County Animal Care . Joevaughn Meredith 35 , was charged with 12 counts of ill-treatment of animals . A lot of the dogs had infections in the eyes , skin disease and most of their fur was gone . Most of their water was green and brown . Most of the animals seized were larger dogs and took up a majority of space in the house . It is believed the dogs had been living in these conditions for nearly two years.  The owener was able to keep 17 of them because there health was up to standards .
