Top 10 Things to do on Superbowl Sunday
February 2, 2018
It’s finally here; the day football fans have all been waiting for. The NFL will crown its newest champion on Sunday night in the Superbowl which will take place in Minneapolis, Minnesota between the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles. Regardless of who you are cheering for or if you even care, we have provided you with some advice that we hope will help you enjoy this year’s Super Bowl. Here are the top 10 things to do on Super Bowl Sunday.
10. Indulge in the food: Find out which restaurants are offering the best Superbowl specials. Be sure to grab some wings and chips with a few slices of pizza and a bowl of chili. In honor of the best Superbowl commercials of all time, be sure to include the classics, the M&M’s and the Doritos. For those law abiding teenagers, some Dr. Pepper and Mtn Dew will hold you through the night.
9. Know what party you’re going to: You definitely want to know what time to show up, what to bring, and most importantly what time to leave. If your Patriots fan invites you over for the game, definitely do not show up with the green and the feathers on. The same for the Eagles parties; no 1776 or Tom Brady attire on. Also, regardless of who is hosting the party or where the party is, be respectful of the environment. No one wants to hear how much you hate the refs or Tom Brady. They will be in a loud stadium in Minnesota, and I can assure you that they don’t care what you think.
8. Educate Yourself: Be sure to know the two teams that are competing for the Lombardi Trophy. Yes, that’s the prize possession of the champion. The two competing teams this year are the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles. Be sure to know the play-makers. For instance, you don’t want to mistake Peyton Manning for Tom Brady. That will have you sitting on the porch.
7. Take a nap: Be sure to get plenty of rest prior to the pregame festivities. The game can consist of many twist and turns with a huge finale that you don’t want to be snoozing on.
6. Watch the pregame and post-game shows: NBC will be airing a pregame concert prior to the big game. South Carolinians will be proud to see Darius Rucker headline the event. Leslie Odom Jr. from Broadway’s Hamilton will be singing “God Bless America,” followed by Pink’s performance of the National Anthem. After the game, there will be a victorious trophy ceremony with the champions being crowned and the MVP being named. However, stay up and tune in to a special edition of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Fallon will have Justin Timberlake and Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson on the show. Also, NBC’s new Drama This is Us will be airing an episode which every fan will want to see. It’ll be a great night for television on NBC, so stay up and tune in.
5. Watch the halftime show: The Superbowl always provides great entertainment with the halftime. Justin Timberlake will be taking the big stage at halftime. We can expect to hear some new songs from his new album Man of The Woods.
4. Commercials: The Superbowl is an awards show for marketing and commercials. Many companies and brands headline their new products with heartwarming and hysterical advertising for the everyday consumer.
3. Accept that the media will have its eyes on Brady: Tom Brady is definitely one of the greatest to ever play the game whether or not the balls are inflated. Everyone loves the Belichick and Brady relationship. If the Patriots win the Superbowl, they will tie the Pittsburgh Steelers atop the NFL mountain. All eyes will be on Brady and his Patriots coming into town on Sunday night.
2. Take lots of photos: Take lots of photos and videos of you and your buddies enjoying the big game. Deck out in your favorite team’s gear whether they’re the dreaded Browns or the Dolphins. Whoever your team may be, celebrate the NFL’s biggest night.
1. Enjoy the game: Have the most fun you can have, but definitely keep it safe. Also, be thankful of the freedoms we have in America. Enjoy the football and entertainment that we have here in the Land of the Free.
